Frequently Asked Questions

What is a private membership association?

A private membership association (PMA) is a legal business structure    protected by the first, fourth, fifth, ninth, tenth, and fourteenth              amendments.

The PMA business and its members operate in the private domain instead of the public, and remain outside the jurisdiction of public law and authority of all state and federal agencies, and regulations.

The private domain of an association is a sanctuary, constitutional shelter, shield, and domain set apart and a preserve according to a number of U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

Do I need to become a member to work with The Ojaian?

Yes. Joining is free! Enter your info here and you’ll receive our terms of agreement, a short document that confirms your membership once signed.

When are the postpartum meals available for pick up?

Every Wednesday between 3 and 5 p.m.

Can I purchase postpartum meals as a gift for someone else?

Preserving a mother’s energy by having home-cooked meals prepared for her is one of the most incredible gifts someone could give during a period of profound growth and transformation.

What if I have a meal train set up for after my baby is born? Should I order these meals in addition?

Definitely. We find that meal trains are ideal for feeding other family members, while The Ojaian’s meals are specifically tailored to the needs of a healing postpartum body, which include supporting hormonal shifts, breastmilk production, and slowed digestion.

Can I change my postpartum meal pickup date if my baby hasn’t been born yet?

Yes. Please give us a three-day notice and we can move it to the following week.

Do you cook with canola oil, corn oil, rapeseed oil, vegetable oil, or any other hydrogenated oils?

Never.

What oils and fats do you cook with?

Olive oil and coconut oil; grass-fed ghee, butter, and beef tallow; and occasionally avocado oil and sesame oil.

Are the meals gluten free?

Yes, excluding homemade sourdough boules.

Do I return the glass jars and black tote?

Yes. The glasses are dishwasher safe. Please wash and return on your next pickup, or feel free to drop off anytime.
